Sisters gift certificates boost local economy

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local shopping this holiday season through its Sisters Country gift certificate program.

"With a Sisters Country gift certificate your wife can buy that pair of boots she's been eyeing, your friends can grab a cup of coffee or dinner, and your kids can go catch a movie," said Erin Borla, executive director of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. "Buy one for your father or husband and they can tee it up for 18 holes or pick out some new fly fishing gear. Give one to your mother and she can enjoy a day at the spa."

Local businesses are in competition for holiday dollars with malls in Bend and with online retailers. The gift certificates are designed to give locals a boost while providing a quick and easy gift item.

"Sisters Country gift certificates encourage people to shop, dine and play in Sisters," Borla said. "These gift certificates are a great way to give a boost to local businesses, and they really do make the perfect stocking-stuffer."

Gift certificates are available in $10 or $25 dollar increments and can be used at most businesses in Sisters. They are available at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, 291 E. Main Ave.
