News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Rotary Club of Sisters is presenting its 16th annual Magical Voices of Christmas concert on Sunday, December 2, at 6 p.m. in the Sisters High School auditorium.
This yearly gift to the community is a free event scheduled to take place at the beginning of the holiday season and features a fine assortment of local talent. It also benefits the Sisters schools' music programs by way of a donation from the Rotary Club. The elementary and high school choirs bookend the show, with a variety of singers, dancers and musicians filling the auditorium with holiday cheer.
The theme this year is A Celtic Christmas, and the songs chosen largely reflect that. A group of Celtic musicians, featuring a harpist, guitar and two violins are a highlight. Dancers from the Sisters Dance Academy are polishing their tap and ballet shoes. Back after an absence are pianist Cammie Benson and singer Mark Kershner.
The Sisters High School band entertains in the Commons during intermission, while concertgoers enjoy cookies home-baked by Rotarians and coffee provided by Sisters Coffee Company.
And the Rotary Club heard from a reliable source that Santa is going to make an appearance.
