Outlaws announce all league football squad

The Outlaws had seven players named to all-league teams, with senior Mitch Keranen the lone player to earn top recognition.

Keranen was a first-team all-league selection for defensive line, and was also a second-team pick for offensive line.

Coach Gary Hedin said, "Mitch was a dominant player on both sides of the football. He forced other teams to make adjustments on how they blocked to account for him beating any one-on-one block. Offensively, he could collapse a side of the defense and allowed our running game to be effective."

Ethan Luloff and Isaac Jackson earned second-team all-league recognition, Luloff at running back and defensive back and Jackson at wide receiver and defensive back.

Luloff was the focal point of the Outlaws offense and was expected to carry the ball 20-plus times per game. Against Junction City, Ethan had over 30 carries.

"Ethan was very adept at following his blockers and then finding a gap," stated Hedin. "Once he was in the open he had the speed to pull away from almost anyone we played. He rushed for over 300 yards in two games."

Jackson was also a big part of the Outlaws offense and was responsible for many big plays.

"Isaac was able to adjust to the ball once it was in the air, and he was athletic enough to go up and get it," said Hedin. "He is a quiet competitor, letting his actions speak for him."

Cole Moore, Mitch Saba, Nathan Kaping and Lane Adams were all honorable mention. Moore was recognized at slot receiver, Saba and Kaping at linebacker and Adams at offensive line.

Of these players Hedin said, "Cole was fun to watch on the field. He got the ball when things were just getting started. While he was recognized for offense he also played defense with intensity. He flew around the field with his hair on fire. Mitch got better every game he played and ended the year as one of our top defensive players. He played both inside and outside linebacker, depending on where he was needed most that week. Nathan is just solid. He knew his assignment and took care of it. He was an assistant coach on the field. Lane could have received recognition for either side of the ball. He has the skillset to be the dominant tackle in the league next year."
