A coronation dinner and dance will be held for 2013 Miss Northwest Professional Rodeo Association (NPRA) Sara Marcus of Sisters. The event is open to the public and will take place at the Bend Elks Lodge on Saturday, January 26.
Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $16 per person; they must be purchased in advance, and will be held at will-call. The evening's festivities will include a dinner, silent and live auctions, a dance, and a farewell presentation by the 2012 Miss NPRA Emily Clark of Tumalo.
Marcus, whose official reign at 2013 Miss NPRA begins January 1, will travel the Northwest during 2013 representing the NPRA at various rodeos, parades, and civic events. The NPRA is the largest regional rodeo association, sanctioning over 35 rodeos annually. The championship finals will be held September 20- 21 in Prineville.
Sara is the daughter of Bob and Jeri Buckmann and Ron Marcus. She is a graduate of Sisters High School where she participated in the Oregon High School Equestrian Team and Tri County High School Rodeo. Sara's previous titles included 2007 Central Oregon Pee Wee Rodeo Association Princess, 2011 Spray Rodeo Queen, and 2012 Sisters Rodeo Queen. She is currently pursuing an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice at Central Oregon Community
College.
