Chamber welcomes new board members

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Scott Huntsman of Black Butte Ranch and Jeff Perin of The Fly Fisher's Place to its nine-member board of directors.

Ann Richardson of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show was re-elected to a term on the board. New board members will take office at the Chamber's masquerade ball on February 22 (see related story, page 18).

Huntsman, Perin, and Richardson were elected by the general membership during the fall 2012 election. According to Executive Director Erin Borla, "the chamber tries to build a complex board where every individual offers a unique background helping to promote the chamber's diversity and the variety of interests of its members."

The newest chamber board members will join Bobbi Meritt (Desert Charm/The Dime Store), Greg Willitts (FivePine Lodge & Conference Center), Wade Underwood (Three Creeks Brewing Company), Jacquie Zanck (Blazin Saddles Cycle-N-Style), Kelly Cyrus (Aspen Lakes Golf Course), and Marcea DeGregorio (South Valley Bank & Trust).

Darren Layne, (Edward Jones) and Julia Rickards (Clearwater Studio/The Open Door) both completed their three-year terms on the Sisters Chamber Board of Directors. Chris Mayes (Mayes Architecture and Planning) is also stepping off the board after his additional year serving as the "past-president," per the bylaws of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce.

"These dynamic individuals dedicated hours of service to the chamber and our community," said Borla. "I appreciate their ability to embrace the mission of the chamber and their dedication to enhancing Sisters Country."

Each board member serves a three-year term. If any position is vacated during the term of service, the seated board members are charged with appointing a member to fill that position. Board meetings are open to the public and held at the chamber office. Contact the chamber for dates and times of upcoming meetings.
