News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Sisters High School art students continued the tradition of high-level performance at the Central Oregon Scholastic Art Awards competition at the Pinckney Center at Central Oregon Community College.
Five student artists earned Gold Key designation, which qualifies them to advance to national competition. Nine garnered Silver Key honors, while 12 received honorable mention.
"Every year, Sisters represents well," said SHS art instructor Bethany Gunnarson. "I think we entered about 50 pieces and received about 30 awards, which is really good."
The Gold Key honorees are: Hailey Brink (twice); Drew Corrigan (with $700 prize); Meganne Mills (twice); Crystal Reifschneider; and Alaina Todd.
The students' work is on display at Sisters High School starting this week.
