Local man leads 'Clean Comedy Night'

Nathan Woodworth is well-known to the Sisters community - though folks may not be sure which Nathan they are talking to. The young impressionist/comic has a stable of spot-on character impressions ranging from U.S. Presidents to Jack Nicholson or Jack Sparrow.

Woodworth will bring his act to the stage at The Belfry on Friday, March 15, in a "Clean Comedy Night" event featuring himself, Randall Knight and the improv group Triage.

Woodworth has been performing stand-up comedy as an impressionist throughout the Pacific Northwest since 2003 when he was just 12 years old. In 2009 he made it into the Top 100 out of over 100,000 contestants on the NBC TV show "America's Got Talent." He is part of the improv scene in L.A. through the legendary schools The Groundlings and The Second City. Nathan will make his Laugh Factory debut in L.A. this spring.

Randall Knight has performed stand-up and toured all along the West Coast and Pacific Northwest for years. He competed in "Last Comic Standing" and was featured in the David Letterman Showcase.

Triage came together in 2003 in a Bend Comedy Mill class directed by Michelle Durnell Johnson (of the Empty Stage, L.A., co-founder of the Perks). A typical Triage show consists of games (made popular by TV shows such as "Whose Line is it, Anyway?") as well as long-form improv where the group creates a multiple-scene story with intricate characters and themes.

Though Triage is proud to call Cascades Theatrical Company's Greenwood Playhouse its home, they have played many private and public venues over the years, including the Tower Theater, 2nd Street Theater, Candlelight Cabaret Dinner Theater, Three Creeks Brewing Co. and Angeline's Bakery.

Current players are: Mike Ficher, Carolyn Platt, Judi VanHouweling, Angela Lund, Lisa Fetrow, Nick McCallion and Paul Bennett. The group has been directed since 2006 by Rhonda Ealy.

Doors open for food and drinks at 6 p.m .; showtime is 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door.
