News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
â¯Hats off to the more than 100 volunteers who turned out on Saturday morning to take on a number of beautification projects in the Celebrate Sisters event. Volunteers worked hard, had a good time, and left their community better than it was when they started.
â¯Devon Calvin of Sisters High School is one of the recipients of The Center Foundation Junior Scholarship Award program. TCF, in partnership with community donors, gives multiple $1,500 scholarships to outstanding Central Oregon high school juniors who demonstrate academic excellence (3.5 or better), school leadership, and community service.
â¯Sisters salutes ASPIRE volunteers at Sisters High School. As the school year draws to a close and celebrations for the passage of the local option are still fresh in memory, the ASPIRE program would like to acknowledge the generosity of yet another anonymous volunteer. Since computers are often over-taxed at the high school, one of our volunteers saw the need for two new iPads to help research college options more efficiently with students.
The two newest members of the work force arrived last week via the Sisters Schools Foundation. ASPIRE is ecstatic to have been chosen for such a generous gesture. Students and ASPIRE volunteers will benefit from these new computers for many years to
come.
