New therapist joins GreenRidge

Jason Gulley came to Central Oregon looking for "recreation and sunshine" - and a position as a physical therapist at GreenRidge Physical Therapy & Wellness.

The Bennington, Vermont, native is a lifelong multi-sport athlete. He played football, baseball, basketball and ran track in high school and earned sponsorship as a distance runner - "anything from 5k to a marathon." It was sports that led him into his field.

"I got injured in football in my junior year," he recalled. "I got treated by a physical therapist and that sparked an interest."

Gulley achieved his doctorate and was practicing in Bellingham, Washington, before moving to Bend with his wife, Laura, and a year-and-half-old puppy.

He will work a three-day schedule at GreenRidge, eventually moving to five days a week.

He specializes in post-surgical rehabilitation and soft-tissue and myofascial release therapies, and he expects to work with a lot of runners.

And he'll be out on foot and on his bike himself, enjoying the benefits of living and working in Sisters Country.

"I'm kind of blown away by the trail systems we've got here," he noted.
