Lloyd Noble Anderson September 1, 1919 - June 16, 2013

Lloyd was born in Detroit, Michigan, September 1, 1919 to Charles and Estelle (Collins) Anderson. His family migrated west to the Portland area when he was young, where he and his brother were raised by their grandparents, Noble Hall and Lillie Anderson.

He married Estella Irene Johnson July 17, 1938. They had three children. They were married 40 years. Irene passed away December 1984.

He began his working career at Multnomah Tile Company in Portland, then was a magnetic inspector for Iron Fireman before serving in the Marine Corps in 1944-45, where he tested aircraft component parts. He again worked for Iron Fireman, then had a varied career doing logging work for Crown Zellerbach, Shevlin Hixon and Brooks-Scanlon, worked for the Oregon State Highway Department, Great Northern Railroad, and for Boeing Airplane Co. as a magnetic inspector. The family lived variously in Oregon in the Portland area, Bend, Gilchrist, Silver Lake, Damascus and La Pine.

Lloyd had many interests and developed many skills, among them building two units of a home plus a third shop unit, all three of which he moved over Mount Hood to his La Pine property where he added to and completed the home.

He was a perfectionist in all of his work and hobbies.

He ended his career working as a timber cruiser for the U.S. Forest Service, retiring to a property in Eastern Oregon near Baker City in 1967, where he and Irene built a log home, spending some winters in Arizona.

He loved the outdoors, archery, black-powder target shooting, geology, canoeing, exploring the desert and forest.

Lloyd met his third wife, Ann St. Cyr, while enjoying camping at peaceful Magone Lake in Eastern Oregon. They were married June 2, 1995. He helped to improve her Maple Hill property in Gig Harbor, WA, then they moved to Quartzsite, AZ where they developed a lot in Rainbow Acres. They returned to Gig Harbor when their health was waning. Ann passed away from cancer March 15, 2013, after 18 years of marriage, faithfully caring for him as long as she could.

Lloyd is survived by his children, Raymond Anderson of Auburn California; Lorene Anderson (Richardson) of Sisters; and Harry Anderson of Arlington, Washington; his nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He passed away from cancer June 16, 2013 at the age of 94, after being cared for for seven months in the Ridgemont Terrace Nursing Home in Port Orchard, Washington.

He was also preceded in death by his brother Willard Anderson.

He will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. A military honors ceremony on Saturday, July 13, will be followed by a memorial gathering of family and friends.
