Artist featured in governor's show

A series of wood panels done in Randy Redfield's colorful abstract style are on display in the Oregon State Capitol Building as part of the prestigious Art in the Governor's Office Program.

The Sisters artist's work will be displayed through September 25.

The Art in the Governor's Office Program honors practicing professional artists in Oregon with exhibitions in the governor's reception area in the state capitol. The opportunity to exhibit in the governor's office is considered a once-in-a-lifetime honor.

Art is selected by a committee consisting of representatives of the governor's office and the Oregon Arts Commission. Artists may be nominated or invited.

Redfield said the exhibit has the working title "Project 43." After hanging in the governor's office, the exhibit will travel to Central Oregon, where it will hang at Sisters Art Works in October and November.
