Wild West coming to Sisters

Sisters will live up to its Western theme as it welcomes the Sisters Wild West Show to Creekside City Park on August 24-25.

This new Sisters event is promoted by Richard Esterman, who hopes to develop it into a large-scale annual event.

The park will be transformed into a Wild West town with 50 feet of Western town facades set up. Originally, named "Howdy Town," the set was donated by Kathy Smith of Prairie City.

The event will feature special Western brawl and shootout performances by the Pine Mountain Posse at high noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Representatives of the Warm Springs Museum will be present. There will also be some tepees and demonstrations.

A live blacksmith will work in "town" and there will be a variety of arts, crafts, antiques, food and a beer garden. All the exhibitors are required to dress in accordance with the theme of the event.

The free event runs Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
