Boys soccer beats Crook County

The boys soccer team defeated Crook County 7-0 at home on Tuesday, September 3, and put the first win of the season into the record books.

Five different players scored goals for the Outlaws, and Jake McAllister led the way with a hat trick (three goals) and two assists.

Sisters got on the scoreboard in the fourth minute of play. Evan Rickards had a hard shot that deflected off the keeper, and Ethan Stengel was there to follow it in for the goal.

Midway through the first half, McAllister chipped the ball over the defense to a streaking Jadon Bachtold, who found the net and put Sisters on top 2-0. At the 35-minute mark, Colton Mannhalter played a ball from the center to the left side and McAllister tapped it in. Sisters entered the half with a 3-0 advantage.

The Outlaws scored their fourth goal five minutes into the second half. McAllister assisted Justin Harrer, who made a great volley into the back of the net. Four minutes later, Stengel assisted McAllister on a center run to the left for an easy goal.

Ten minutes later, McAllister recorded his third goal. Jake trapped a ball at the top of the 18-yard mark and turned to score a hard shot. Sisters' final goal came with 10 minutes left in the game. Trent Marks sent a long 30-yard shot to the upper left corner from the right side for the score.

The clock ran down and the Outlaws recorded the shut-out.

Sisters outshot the Cowboys 35-6 in the game and forced their keeper to make 13 saves.

Coach Rob Jensen noted Jardon Weems, Gabe Willits, Colton Mannhalter, Evan Rickards and Ethan Stengel.

"Jardon and Gabe played particularly well in the center of the field at defense, and Jardon and Colton controlled the middle the entire game," said Jensen. "Evan and Ethan continually beat opponents up the sidelines and set up teammates for opportunities.

"Overall, we played fine," said Jensen. "We definitely have some work to do, but this wasn't bad for a first day out. We began to develop some flow in the second half and we put some pressure on Crook County's goal."

The Outlaws will play at home against Redmond on Thursday, September 12, with the game scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, September 14, the Outlaws will play at home against the Henley Hornets at noon.
