News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce presents the fourth annual Sisters Fresh Hop Festival, Saturday, September 28 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Village Green Park in Sisters.
The event will include 17 Oregon breweries featuring their best "fresh-hop" brews and some crowd favorites, along with free live music, food, and more.
The Sisters Fresh Hop Festival is the first in a series of Fresh Hop Festivals across the state of Oregon throughout the fall. Admission to the event is free and is open to all ages. A souvenir taster pint glass is available, and required to taste the brews, for $5 and tasting tickets are $1 per 4 oz. taste.
"We have more breweries and more beers than ever," said John Rivera, events coordinator for the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. "It's really exciting to see the festival continue to grow with all of the enthusiasm for seasonal fresh-hop beer. Make sure to come down this year and vote for your favorite fresh-hop beer in the People's Choice Award. We'll be giving away the very prestigious Golden Bunny Award to the winning brewery."
Breweries at the 2013 Sisters Fresh Hop Festival include: 10 Barrel Brewing; Bridgeport Brewing; Cascade Lakes Brewing Company; Crux Fermentation Project; Deschutes Brewery; Fort George Brewery & Public House; Full Sail Brewing Company; GoodLife Brewing; Harvester Brewing; McMenamins Old St. Francis School; Portland Brewing, Ninkasi Brewing Company; Seven Brides Brewing; Smith Rock Brewing Company; Three Creeks Brewing Co .; Widmer Brothers Brewing; and Worthy Brewing.
