The Lady Outlaws volleyball team isn't just posting wins against their opponents - they're recording sweeps in every match. Sisters earned a sweep on the road against Elmira on Tuesday, September 24, and two days later swept La Pine.
On Tuesday, Sisters beat the Falcons 25-15, 25-13 and 25-14. Elmira kept the score close at the start of each set, but the Outlaws had some long serving runs that opened the gap and brought each set to a quick close.
Nila Lukens, Allie Spear and Isabel Tara led the Outlaws in kills. Lukens posted 13 kills and four aces. Tara tallied 10 kills and Spear recorded nine kills and three aces.
Alex Hartford dished out 19 assists and served up three aces. Katelyn Meeter had 13 assists in the match and Savannah Spear contributed nine digs.
Coach Miki McFadden said, "We served tough and put them (Elmira) in the hole, and then we pulled away."
Two days later, the Outlaws swept La Pine in three very quick sets with scores of 25-6, 25-9 and 25-13.
Haylie Hudson's string of nine straight serves highlighted the third set.
Kill leaders in the match were Lukens and Tara with seven each. Hudson and Hartford recorded eight assists each and Meeter added seven.
The Spear sisters (Savannah and Allie) had good passing performances and distributed the ball easily to the hitters.
The Outlaws hold the No. 1 spot in league with a 4-0 record and are 10-4 overall. Sisters will play at Junction City on Thursday, October 3.
