Wilma Alida Poppitz Norberg April 22, 1925 - October 2, 2013

Wilma was born in Dalton, Nebraska, on April 22, 1925, to Theodor and Anna Poppitz.

Wilma went be with the Lord while living in Stayton, Oregon, on October 2, 2013 at the age of 88.

Wilma grew up on a wheat farm in Nebraska and told stories of raising chickens and hoeing corn. Wilma loved the Lord. Her parents had a strong faith in the Lord and raised their kids in the church. She was confirmed at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church at Gurley, Nebraska, on March 20, 1938. She graduated from Sydney High School in 1943. Wilma's high school training prepared her for her bookkeeping career years later.

Wilma and Milas McGuire were married in 1945. Their two daughters, Karen Joy and Pamela Sue, were raised in Salem, Oregon, with education being a high priority for their daughters. Wilma and Milas were divorced in 1964. On September 28, 1967, she married Floyd Bunch. They lived in Oakridge, Oregon, and Yuma, Arizona, until Floyd's passing on October 9, 1988.

Family camping and fishing trips provided many memories for children and grandchildren.

Wilma met Hal Norberg in Yuma, where they would go dancing. On May 20, 1992, she and Hal were married. After moving to California, she and Hal attended Christ the Vine Lutheran Church in Temecula, hosting Bible studies in their home and participating in church plant building projects until Hal's health declined.

Wilma loved to garden, take walks, crochet, cook, and sew. Her family was very important to her, and she wanted to enjoy them as much as she could.

Hal passed away on January 23, 2011. Wilma wanted to be closer to her daughters and moved back to Oregon. She first lived with her daughter, Karen, in Sisters until her health declined. Then she moved to Lakeside Assisted Living near her daughter, Pam, in Stayton, until her passing.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Theodor and Anna Poppitz; brother-in-law Fred White; son-in-law Dennis Ritchie; brother Edwin Poppitz; and her husbands, Floyd Bunch and Hal Norberg.

Wilma is survived by her daughters: Karen Ritchie of Sisters, and Pam (and Bill) Davis of Stayton; four grandchildren: Suzanne Ritchie of Sisters; Brian (and Michelle) Ritchie of Jacksonville, Florida; Andy Davis of Woodland, Texas; Liz (and Andy) Trolan of Keizer; six great-grandchildren: Austin and Jordan Ritchie, Maya and Layla Trolan, Lily and Ingrid Davis; a sister, Edna White of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a brother, Arnold (and Jeannette) Poppitz of Monmouth, as well as nieces, nephews and their families.
