News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Outlaws faced Mt. View on Monday, October 28, and finished with a 3-3 tie.
Players fought hard under very cold and blustery weather conditions. Mt. View got on the scoreboard 13 minutes into the game on a breakaway from their striker, who is one of the best players in the state.
Jake McAllister evened the score when he dribbled the ball around five defenders 12 minutes later. At the half the score was tied 1-1.
Sisters scored two quick goals to go up 3-1 with 25 minutes left on the clock.
Billy Biggers scored off a cross from the right side from Connor Schaab three minutes into the half and 10 minutes later McAllister scored off a pass from Schaab.
Mt. View scored two quick goals in three minutes from the same attacker and tied it up 3-3. The score held until the final whistle.
Coach Rob Jensen said, "We learned a little bit about maintaining concentration with a lead and how fast it can dissolve if we lose focus, as well as how to defend a really talented and fast offensive player."
McAllister told The Nugget that the Outlaws are playing as a cohesive unit and are ready for what lies ahead.
"This team is more talented and connected than we have been in the past, which has showed in not only the amount of goals we have scored but how many of us have scored as well," said McAllister. "We are prepared for the challenge ahead due to coaches' motivation and demonstration of the mentality each of us needs to have. He has asked for greatness and we will give him nothing less. This has been the best year yet. I enjoy playing with this group of guys and we just continue to get stronger."
