Massage therapist launches practice

Chelsea Bothum has been in Sisters for 13 years, off and on. She's moved on a few times, but, she says, "I just keep coming back."

There's something about Sisters that feels like home to Bothum - and now she's also making it her place of business. A licensed massage therapist who has worked at Shibui, Bothum now has her own space at 442 E. Main Ave. Suite 3 (behind The Nugget).

She offers Swedish massage, therapeutic massage, cranial sacral therapy, and is a crystal light therapy practitioner, working to clear clients' energy field.

"You pick up other people's energy, and after a while you get kind of heavy with the stuff people put on you," she said.

Having her own space allows Bothum to operate on a by-appointment schedule and to conduct her business as she chooses - which includes making trades with people for services.

Bothum has always had a knack for the healing arts. She started practicing tai chi when she was 15 and she gave massages to friends and family.

"A friend pushed me to get my license; my dad pushed me to get my license - and it turned out I really enjoyed it," she said. "I like helping people."

When she's not working, Chelsea enjoys time with her daughter, camping and hiking, and enjoying the wonders of Sisters

Country.

Bothum offers gift certificates, and is now offering a buy-one-get-one-free special. Call 541-419-0872 for an appointment.
