News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon

Patricia Leah White December 22, 1946 - November 23, 2013

My beautiful sister, Patricia Leah White (Birdie) passed away early Saturday morning November 23, 2013 with her loved ones by her side. She had paralyzed vocal cords and esophagus and died from aspiration. Pat was born in Salem, Oregon on December 22, 1946. She often said the gold man on the capital building was recognizing her birth! She had a wonderful sense of humor and so enjoyed being around family and friends.

Pat was raised an Air Force brat and had the wonderful opportunity to live at Moses Lake, Washington and the Air Force Academy as it was being built. She also got to go to Japan two times and ended up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she lived for thirty-plus years. She relocated to Sisters to help with her aging parents. Pat enjoyed many trips to Lincoln City with family and just recently went to Seaside with her sister and dogs.

She loved her cats throughout her life and in most recent years found her love for poodles Herschel and Ralphie. Pat was an avid cook and kept her family forever fattened up with delicious food. She took great pride in her appearance and always looked like she stepped right out of Vogue magazine!

She will be so missed by her sister, Sharon, Cal and nephew Matt. We will hold her memory closely to us always.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Laura White.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Jamie Rivera (Joe) and twin daughters, Aydan and Jordan in New Mexico; sister, Sharon Dilley; her soulmate, Cal; and nephews Matt Dilley of Sisters and Jerry Dilley and family of Phoenix.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Redmond-Sisters.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.

Toasting you forever, Birdie.
