Lady Outlaws fall to Madras

Sisters lost 66-47 to Madras at home on Tuesday, December 4, in another tough pre-season girls basketball matchup.

The White Buffaloes started the game off at a quick pace and jumped out with an early lead. At the close of the first quarter the Outlaws were down 21-8.

Sisters settled down and began to run the floor well but just could not get the ball through the hoop. The Outlaws got good looks but could not get crucial shots to fall, and at the half trailed the White Buffs 37-18.

The Outlaws made some adjustments at the half and were able to contain Madras' top shooter to just one basket and two free throws in the second half.

Sisters stayed even with Madras in the second half, but the deficit from the first half was too big to overcome and the White Buffs walked away with the win.

Jacobie Petterson led the Outlaws with 15 points, followed by Savannah Spear who put up 11. Cierra Mann recorded nine points and Clarie Henson added eight.

"We knew this would be a fast-paced game, and for the first eight minutes we were not able to adjust enough to stop Madras at transition," said Coach Julianne Horner. "I was proud of the adjustments the girls made in the second half. This is early in the season, and I like the team effort and great attitudes the girls are showing. They have faced two very good teams and have improved with each game. I am confident we will make the adjustments, and come league these games will help us."

Sisters will travel to the Seaside Invitational Tournament Thursday through Saturday, December 19 through 21.
