Robert John Rickabaugh February 10, 1915 - December 18, 2013

Robert John Rickabaugh of Medford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 and is now eternally home and present with the Lord. He was 98 years old.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Devon Rickabaugh; his daughter, Barbara McCormack (Rickabaugh); his grandchildren, Melanie Barton (McCormack), Keegan Rickabaugh; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

His family and friends rejoice with him, even as they miss his daily presence and joy in the Lord. As a father, grandfather, brother and friend, Bob will be remembered as a man of conviction, who truly embodied the words of Jesus in Matthew 5 "ye are the salt of the earth." He boldly lived a life of grace and truth, honoring the Lord in all he did.

He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, February 10, 1915 to Charles and Catherine Rickabaugh. He was one of eight children and is survived by his younger sister Louise Smith (Rickabaugh).

In 2005 his dear wife, Alfreda Rickabaugh, went to be with the Lord after 68 years of marriage and beautiful companionship.

He was led by the providence of God and primarily lived and worked in California, Montana and Oregon. He was humble, caring and thought of others more than himself. He studied the Bible and prayed for hours each day, along with memorizing and quoting quantities of Scripture. Bob will be remembered for boldly yet compassionately proclaiming the Word of God and one's need to know Jesus as Savior.

Blessed as a man of wit with a great sense of humor, Bob's notable roles were as a World War II veteran, electronic researcher, pastor, woodworker, scratch golfer and golf course superintendent at Black Butte Ranch.

He lived a long and healthy life, even golfing 18 holes on his 98th birthday. Bob's family is grateful for the legacy that is theirs.

A memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 29, at 3 p.m., hosted by Bear Creek Church in the gymnasium at St. Mary's School, 816 Black Oak Dr., Medford. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his eternal life in Heaven.
