Wendell Ivan Scott October 11, 1933 - December 17, 2013

Wendell Ivan Scott of Sisters passed away on December 17, 2013 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. He was 80.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 4 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 16791 Pine Tree Lane in Sisters.

Wendell was born October 11, 1933, in Salina, Kansas, to Charles and Doris (Sechrist) Scott. He grew up in Eugene and Sisters, graduating from Redmond Union High School in 1951. He became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1972. On October 2, 1992 he married Carol Nicholas in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Wendell spent much of his career working in sales in the finance industry, which included working for Portland Federal Credit Union. Upon retiring in 1998, he and Carol lived in Hood River until 2011, when they moved to Sisters.

Wendell loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed studying the Bible and taking road trips. But, most of all, he loved and enjoyed spending time with his wife, Carol, and teaching the Bible to others.

Wendell leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Carol Scott of Sisters; one son, Brad; two daughters, Penny and Debbie; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both his parents; his brother, Don; and a son, Bruce.

Wendell was a kind and gentle man, and will be missed by all who knew him.
