News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Catherine Childress has announced that she plans to resign later this month from her seat on the Sisters City Council.
Childress is moving with her husband to a home at Aspen Lakes, which places her outside the city jurisdiction. Councilors must be residents of the city to serve.
The vacancy on the council will be filled by appointment by majority agreement of the council.
(Note: A previous of this story stated that the appointment was to be made by the Mayor. That was incorrect as pointed out below by Ms. Chapman).
