Vandals go on mailbox-bashing spree

Vandals went on a mailbox-bashing spree north of Sisters on December 23.

Local resident Bob Collins reported that, "... vandals went down our street destroying metal mailboxes and most of our hand-made newspaper boxes. They also damaged mailboxes in the Fox Ridge community next door, and several signs on Camp Polk Road leading to town. Several months ago vandals destroyed mailboxes in the Sage Meadow community just west of us."

The destruction is disturbing to local residents, who have been making individual reports to the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office.

The culprits remain unknown.

The sheriff's office requests that anyone with information on the incidents contact them at 541-388-6655.
