Chamber sets stroll dates for 2014

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, along with several downtown merchants, invites businesses to be a part of the upcoming Stroll Sisters events.

The next four events are scheduled on Fridays throughout the winter and into spring: January 17, February 28, March 21 and May 23, all from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Stroll Sisters events are funded in part by a grant from The Roundhouse Foundation and are a part of the Cascade Avenue Street Improvement Project Marketing Program. This program has been designed to help encourage shopping and dining throughout Sisters during the Cascade Avenue Street Improvements and encourage businesses to work together and support one another.

Several downtown merchants have participated in the last few Stroll Sisters events that have happened throughout the fall, and the Chamber hopes to grow the number of participants.

"These events offer a chance for locals and visitors alike to get out and experience all our merchants have to offer," said Erin Borla, executive director of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce.

The cost for businesses to participate is $100 for all four remaining parties - $25 per party. These fees will help offset marketing of each event. To guide patrons to businesses, the Chamber will include a Stroll Sisters map as well as publicize the event through The www.nuggetnews.com">Nugget Newspaper, radio, and social media channels.

Contact the Sisters Chamber office, 541-549-0251, fill out the form, pay the nominal fee and you are signed up. The Chamber asks that your business be open during the hours of the stroll, from 4 to 7 p.m., and provide beverages and light snacks along with a special offer or item available during the stroll.

For more information contact Borla at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce at 541-549-0251 or via email at [email protected] To be included in the January 17 event, applications must be received by Friday, January 10.
