Beverly Mae Wiborg, 70, of Cottage Grove, Oregon, passed away January 22, 2014. She was born May 29, 1943, in Oakland, California, to Joseph and Betty (Martinez) Gomes. Beverly graduated from Hayward High School, Hayward, California, and she worked as a cook in several restaurants, youth camps and ski lodges.
When not working, Beverly volunteered for the Sisters Rodeo and at St. Edwards Catholic Church. She also volunteered at the VFW, WOE Fair and the dinners at the Cottage Grove Community Center. Beverly was an active member of the VFW Post 3473. She married Donnie Benton, November 10, 1962, in Reno, Nevada, and then married Roger Wiborg, December 26, 1974, in Hawaii.
She is survived by her daughters Kathy (Marvin) Rhodes of Dorena, Oregon, Julie (Mike) Ish of Cottage Grove, and Nancy (Curt) Dawson of Dorena; sons Tony (Corinne) Wiborg of Olympia, Washington, Michael Wiborg of Weaverville, California, Ben (Erica) Wiborg of Redmond, and Terry Benton; sisters Bernedette of Tillamook and Lorainne of Williams, California; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands Don Benton and Roger Wiborg, and son Mickey Benton.
A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, at the VFW Hall, 3160 Hillside Dr., Cottage Grove, Oregon.
