News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, along with several downtown merchants, is reminding businesses of the opportunity to be a part of upcoming Stroll Sisters events. The next Stroll is scheduled on Friday, February 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. and there is still time to get a business on the map for this event.
The Stroll Sisters events are funded in part by a grant from The Roundhouse Foundation and are a part of the Cascade Avenue Street Improvement Project Marketing Program. This program has been designed to help encourage shopping and dining throughout Sisters during the Cascade Avenue Street Improvements and encourage businesses to work together and support one another.
Several downtown merchants have participated in the last few Stroll Sisters events that have happened over the last six months, and the chamber hopes to grow the number of participants.
"These events offer a chance for locals and visitors alike to get out and experience all our merchants have to offer," said Erin Borla, executive director of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. "Our next Stroll is the night before the big groundbreaking celebration for the Cascade Avenue Project, so we have themed this Stroll 'Dump Everything and Stroll
Sisters!'"
The cost for businesses to participate is $100 to be included in all remaining parties (February 28, March 21, and May 23). These fees will help offset marketing of each event. To guide patrons to businesses, the Chamber will include a Stroll Sisters map; as well as publicize the event through The Nugget, radio, and social media channels.
Contact the Sisters Chamber office at 541-549-0251; fill out the form; pay the fee and you are signed up. The chamber asks that businesses be open during the hours of the stroll and provide beverages and light snacks along with a special offer. For more information contact Erin Borla at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce at 541-549-0251 or via email at [email protected] To be included in the February 28 event, applications must be received by Thursday, February 20.
