News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Travelers to Sisters Country consider FivePine Lodge as one of the top hotels in the United States.
The lodging establishment on Highway 20 at the east end of town has earned high marks through TripAdvisor.com, a travel website providing directory information and reviews of travel-related content. The website also includes interactive travel forums.
Every year TripAdvisor.com recognizes the top hotels in the United States based on user reviews. FivePine Lodge & Spa is ranked fifth in TripAdvisor.com's Top Hotels of 2014 list as published on their website.
"We are so honored to be recognized by our guests and TripAdvisor.com," said General Manager Greg Willitts. "Our gracious staff, many of whom have been with us since we opened our doors in 2007, always strive to not only meet our guests' needs, but exceed their expectations."
FivePine is on this list in the company of many large properties in major markets across the United States, including the Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas, Nevada; the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka'upulehu in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; the Casablanca Hotel Times Square in New York City; and three other Oregon properties including The Oxford (Bend), The Alison Inn & Spa (Newberg), and the RiverPlace Hotel (Portland).
"This is quite the award," said Willitts. "For a property in rural Oregon to be named in the same list as major properties in large markets like New York City, Washington D.C., and Boston is a feat in itself. Even with the recognition I am pleased to say that FivePine will continue to stay true to our comfortable and romantic nature. We will always be a place where travelers can escape the rigid and staunch world from where they came; a place where people reconnect to each other."
FivePine's rural nature makes the travel experience different from other properties on the list.
"I am probably the only general manager on that list that gets to come to work in casual attire," Willitts said.
"We are proud of the product we have developed here in Sisters and, most importantly, we are proud to be a part of such a wonderful community that embraces visitors as 'one of their own.' Sisters Country has done an excellent job of demonstrating to people from all over the world how to embrace your pioneering spirit while still taking time to relax, enjoy the company of those you are with, and soak up our beautiful surroundings."
FivePine credits a portion of their success to their staff and management as well as their partnerships with tourism professionals at Travel Oregon, Central Oregon Visitors Association and Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce.
"We have premier representation at all levels, and are very fortunate to live, work and promote such a unique state and region", said Kelly Newcombe, FivePine's sales and marketing manager.
