Great Duck Hunt in Sisters Country

Beginning on Friday, April 4, rubber construction ducks will be hidden throughout businesses in Sisters Country. The Great Sisters Duck Hunt works like this: If you find a duck, snap a picture of it and post it to the Sisters Country Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/SistersCountry) to be entered to win Sisters Country Gift Certificates totaling $225. (The caption must include the duck's number; see below.)

More than two-dozen ducks will initially be hidden in random businesses in Sisters Country. Every two weeks more ducks will be added in different locations. Business owners can move the ducks throughout their store during the contest to encourage patrons to continue to seek the ducks.

"We saw these rubber ducks dressed in construction costumes and immediately thought, 'we need to do something with those during the Cascade Avenue Reconstruction Project,'" said Erin Borla, executive director of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. "We believe the Great Sisters Duck Hunt will be a fun activity for all ages and help engage locals and visitors while out experiencing Sisters Country shops and restaurants. And who doesn't love a rubber duck?"

The contest officially starts on Friday, April 4, and will run through Friday, May 23. Each duck will be numbered on the bottom - the duck number MUST be included in the caption of the photo for the entry to count toward the grand prize. Photos posted on the Sisters Country Facebook page will be counted as one entry per photo (participants may enter more than once - but only one entry per person, per duck).

The grand-prize-winners will be selected at random and be presented on Friday, May 23 during the final Stroll Sisters event. Three prizes will be awarded, all in Sisters Country Gift Certificates. One will be worth $25; one $50; and one $150. The Sisters Country Gift Certificates are valid at most businesses in Sisters Country including shops, restaurants, golf courses and more.
