Celebrate Sisters with town clean-up

The City of Sisters, in partnership with Sisters Park & Recreation District and the Sisters School District, invites the public to support the community and participate in Celebrate Sisters Day on Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers will meet in front of Sisters City Hall, 520 E. Cascade Ave., then venture out all over Sisters to work on a range of projects which will clean up and enhance Sisters' natural beauty. There will be volunteer opportunities for all skill and fitness levels. Participants are asked to bring their own equipment such as paint brushes, rollers, rakes, hoes, shovels, pickaxes, buckets, squeegees, etc. Work will culminate with a barbecue lunch, sponsored by The Roundhouse Foundation in front of City Hall at 1 p.m.

"Having community members work together that might not otherwise meet helps to create a sense of community, an added benefit of the day," said City Manager Andrew Gorayeb. "We are all looking forward to having a lot of positive, civic-minded citizens come together for an enjoyable and productive experience which will help enhance our great community."
