News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Three Sisters artists have joined forces for a rich but fleeting high desert art experience: Sisters' first pop-up art gallery opens for just 15 days. Artists Bill Earhart, Candyce Park and Lynn Rothan will display their work at 178 S. Elm St. The gallery opens Friday during the Sisters Art Stroll, June 27, 3 to 7 p.m.
Among the art forms on display such as hand-crafted ceramic beads, prints and sculpture, the show will feature Earhart's unique anagama wood-fired ceramics, Rothan's sultry paintings, and Park's unique jewelry inspired by the natural materials she uses. And, in the spirit of "give where you live," the trio is sponsoring a raffle to benefit Sisters Habitat for Humanity. Prizes include a hand-made ceramic table-top sink, a felter's fantasy basket, and a $50 gift certificate at Candyce's shop, Things, etc..., the gallery's sponsor.
During quilt-show weekend there will be felting demonstrations; felting kits and instruction will be available.
