Sisters girls shine at track meet

Two Sisters girls were crowned state champions in the girls' 9-10 age division at the 2014 Hershey's Track and Field Oregon State Finals held at Hayward Field on Saturday, June 28.

Baily Knirk placed first in both the 50-meter dash (7.63 seconds) and the standing long jump (6 feet 6 inches).

Lexie Miller placed first in the 100-meter dash (15.08). Their scores will be compared with winning scores from all other Northwest Region meets to determine which athletes will qualify for national competition. The Northwest Regional team will be announced July 11. The Hershey's North American finals are scheduled in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on August 2.

Both girls will enter fifth grade at Sisters Christian Academy this fall.
