David Jeffrey Liming, age 23, of Sacramento, California, passed away on the morning of Friday, August 15.
David was born in San Jose, CA on April 6, 1991, to parents Janice and Jeffrey Liming. He graduated from Sisters High School in 2009 and was the senior class president.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Sisters and participated in many local activites including those of the fire department. David attended Stanford University as a high school interim student and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2013 with bachelor's degrees cum laude in economics and business management.
At the time of his death, David was actively seeking employment in the Sacramento area as a financial analyst. In addition to his scholarly pursuits, David was an athlete and ably demonstrated his abilities on Sisters High School soccer and lacrosse teams.
David was very well-traveled and an outdoor adventurer. In his camping van or Jeep, and in the company of a friend or two and with his two dogs he explored much of the West and routes between Oregon and New York. He enjoyed Death Valley and toured the park for years with friends and family. He backpacked solo throughout Europe and spent time in countries of the Near East. One of David's college summers was spent in Quantico, VA, at Marine Corps Officer Candidate School.
David was a very caring person and often went far out of his way to comfort and aid individuals in need.
David is survived by parents Jan and Jeff Liming, of Sisters; brother John, of Sisters; grandparents Marion and John Liming, of Vancouver, WA; cousins Kiersten, Carolyn, Kurt, Nolan, Shelby, Brandon, Jessica, Sarah, Jenni and Melissa; Aunts and Uncles and many, many precious friends. David's girlfriend, Maya, of New York State, was a source of great happiness for him.
David's life will be celebrated at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 23, at 1 p.m. The church is located at 386 N. Fir St. in Sisters. The phone number is 541-549-5831. A reception will follow the service.
