News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
There is nothing hazy about the exact measure that Sisters citizens will vote on in November regarding medical marijuana.
The Sisters City Council has approved ballot language for a measure that, if approved by voters, would allow a medical marijuana facility in Sisters under approval by city staff. There would be a number of conditions:
A facility could not be located on or within 100 feet of Cascade Avenue. Signage would have to comply with code and could not display a marijuana leaf or any other depiction of product. The facility could not provide any marijuana-infused product manufactured or packaged to be attractive to minors.
The council members concurred that they will not host or participate in any pre-election debate on the measure. Voters will weigh in on the referendum in the November 4 election. Ballots will be in the mail in October.
