Sisters to celebrate fresh hops

Sisters has a tradition of celebrating the fall season with a nod to seasonal beer-making.

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce and Ray's Food Place will present the fifth annual Sisters Fresh Hop Festival, Saturday, September 27, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Village Green Park in Sisters.

The event will include two-dozen Oregon breweries featuring their best "fresh hop" brew and some crowd favorites, along with free live music, food, and more.

"We are so pleased to welcome 24 breweries from across our state to this annual event," said Erin Borla, marketing and public relations coordinator for the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. "This is the most we've ever been able to showcase here in Sisters. We know everyone will find something pleasing to their palate at this event."

The Sisters Fresh Hop Festival is the first in a series of Fresh Hop Festivals across the state of Oregon throughout the fall. Admission to the event is free and open to all ages. A souvenir taster pint glass, sponsored by HopNBean, is available for $5 (required to taste the brews), and tasting tickets are $1 per 4 oz. taste.
