Outlaws Robotics Club set to compete

The Sisters High School (SHS) Outlaws Robotics Club is off and running. The Outlaws have a new team (last year's team is off to college) and a new challenge to stretch the team's creativity, teamwork and engineering skills.

The club meets a couple of times a week in Rob Corrigan's classroom. Most of the team is together on Thursday evenings working on the new challenge. The team consists of Garrett Young (9th grade); Craig Wessel (12th grade); Corbin Johnson (6th grade); Jordan Pollard (9th grade); Rose Williams (7th grade); and Ian Cash (6th grade). They are coached by Joey Hougham and Brian Cash. The team is sponsored by Sisters Science Club, Brighten Electric, Alpine Internet and Trangistics, Inc.

The Outlaws will host the first new league format in the state on Wednesday, November 4 at 4:30 p.m. As many as 10 Central Oregon teams will compete in the tournament. League winners/leaders will advance to compete against teams from the Willamette Valley in January.

Meets are scheduled for November 5 at SHS, November 11 at Redmond Proficiency Academy, December 3 at Summit High School, and the league championship will be held December 14 at Mountain View High School.
