Sharon Nadine Anglea November 20, 1939 - December 20, 2014

Sharon Nadine Anglea passed away on December 20, at the age of 75, in Sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Mike, and children (grandchildren), Kirstin Anne Anglea (Anya Anglea Race), Stacey Anglea Zawel (Max Anglea Zawel and Zakary Anglea Zawel), Steve Michael Anglea (Greyson James Anglea, Sydney Geneva Anglea), Katryn Amundson Chansley, and Anna-Liese Amundson ('Io Mele and Laila Amundson); and her dog, Bailey.

Sharon and Mike's kids are sprinkled across the United States - a reflection of their adventurous, adaptable spirits. Kirstin lives with her partner, Lisa Gies, in Mequon, WI. Stacey and her husband, Leigh, live in Weston, MA. Steve and his wife, Karen, reside in Eagle, ID. Katryn and her husband, Josh, live in Austin, TX. Anna-Liese lives with her family in Nevada City, CA.

Sharon was born in Salem on November 20, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Mary Amundson, and her brother, Rand Amundson. Sharon's surviving brother, Stan Curtis Amundson, lives in Salem.

Sharon and Mike began their romance while students at Washington State University more than half a century ago, while on a blind date facilitated by their good friends Helen and Dick Apple. They married on October 15, 1960 and lived in numerous locations throughout Oregon and Washington before buying their first home in Edmonds, WA. In subsequent years, Mike's job with CH2M HILL moved their family to Boise, ID; Oconomowoc, WI; Sydney, Australia; and San Antonio, TX. In 2003 they retired home to the Northwest.

While living in Wisconsin, Sharon resumed her education, earning a B.A. in art history from Mount Mary University and a Masters in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. She worked, professionally, as both an artist and therapist. Wherever she lived, she was an active member of her community. Most recently, she was a member of the Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O.) in Sisters.

Consistent with Sharon's tremendous generosity of spirit and commitment to family, she and Mike adopted her brother's young daughters, Katryn and Anna-Liese, upon their parents' death in 1987.

Sharon exuded class, sass, energy and courage - a woman who always had her lipstick on.

She was a mother, gourmet cook, artist, gardener, therapist, traveler, lover of horses and dogs, confidant, dear friend, wonderful wife and companion on life's adventures.

She was both a creator and devourer of all things beautiful.

Sharon and Mike moved gracefully across any dance floor be it the jitterbug, waltz, or the Texas two-step.

She relished music that moved her soul.

Her Norwegian heritage was a vital part of her identity and lent her the gift of feisty persistence.

She bestowed her many gifts upon her children who exude her thirst for adventure, determination, appreciation for all things beautiful, and love for gardening, cooking, and enjoying good music.

Sharon will be missed by everyone she touched, yet her vivacity will live on to inspire us all.
