Science Fair expands roster of exhibitors

The upcoming Sisters Science Fair, scheduled for February 21, noon to 4 p.m. at Sisters High School, has expanded its out-of-district exhibitors this year.

In addition to student presentations and competitions, the Science Fair will feature exhibitors from Central Oregon to pique scientific interest.

The Central Oregon Rocket Club will display rockets, and members will explain the ins and outs of rocket science to anyone who asks "How?" "What?" "Why?" Spectators can then take their newfound knowledge outside at 1 and 3 p.m. to watch club members launch rockets on the high school front lawn.

Sisters company ENERGY-

neering Solutions, Inc. will display some of their projects and offer some 3-D printer displays. Another Sisters company, MOHR Solutions, will be on hand to talk about their innovative power and telecommunications firm.

St. Charles Education and Cascades East will be bringing "Carl," their interactive mannequin, to teach basic life support.

Chimps, Inc. wildlife sanctuary and USFS Trout Unlimited represent the science of animals. Last year's trout stream was extremely popular, and Trout Unlimited will be bringing it back with even more hands-on instruction.

Another popular exhibit at previous fairs has been the planetarium where you can view the night sky from inside the dome. Sisters Astronomy Club and Oregon Observatory at Sunriver will be on hand to answer questions.
