Janet Lee (Wood) Barbour died February 4, 2015 at age 68 from breast cancer.
Jan was born April 7, 1946 in Corvallis to Harold and Helen Wood. Most of her life was spent living in Toledo and Newport. The past 20 years were blissfully happy for her with her husband, Jack Kaylor Barbour. Jan lived each day to the fullest and found great joy in her two daughters and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Harold Wood; mom, Helen Wood; and brother, Dennis Wood.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Barbour; daughter and son-in-law Dena (Koker) and Scott Salisbury of Sisters, daughter and son-in-law Patty (Koker) and Dan Kinion; step-daughters Angela and Dawniel; sisters Pat (Wood) Weekley and Joann (Wood) Smith; three granddaughters, Serena, Rheanna, and Savanna; and three grandsons, Trent, Isaac, and Max.
Per her request there will not be a service. Although, if you find yourself missing her beautiful smile you are welcome to donate to the Women's Cancer Fund through the Pacific Communities Health District, 930 S.W. Abbey St., Newport, OR, 97365, where they are able to financially assist women who are battling cancer.
You are also invited to take a walk on the beach, hug a grandchild and/or say a kind word to a stranger. All of these things will honor her memory.
