News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Entry forms for the 2015 Sisters Rodeo Parade are available at
Application forms can be filled out and submitted online. Paper forms are available at the rodeo office, 220 W. Cascade Ave. in Sisters. The entry form includes general rules for parade participants, a map of the route, and where to obtain information for overnight accommodations, including boarding facilities for animals.
For this 75th anniversary year, the parade will honor as many former Sisters Rodeo Queens and courts as the committee can locate. The committee encourages anyone who knows former Sisters royalty to advise those women of this special occasion.
"We are so excited about having our past queens in the parade line-up," said Jeri Buckmann, co-chair of the parade along with Vicki Allen. "We have already signed up nearly 30 of them."
With many entries, Buckmann recommends getting applications in early to be sure you can be placed.
"Our Sisters Rodeo Parade is a highlight of rodeo activities. Bands, other rodeo courts, youth groups, colorful floats, vintage autos, dogs and horses make this a really fun event to watch. Participants and viewers have a really good time," said Bob Buckmann, Sisters Rodeo director charged with parade management.
Judging will start at 8:30 a.m. on parade day, with trophies and ribbons awarded to both adult and youth entries.
Information for visiting rodeo courts and advisers is also available at the rodeo ticket office for both the parade and the grand entry during the four rodeo performances.
The 75th Sisters PRCA Rodeo will feature five performances on June 10, 12-14. Tickets may be purchased at the rodeo office at 220 W. Cascade Ave. in Sisters or by calling 541-549-0121 or 800-827-7522.
