News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Thirteen candidates for the Sisters schools superintendent emerged from a marathon application review session last week.
School board chair Don Hedrick told The Nugget that the 13 candidates will be interviewed over three days, Wednesday through Friday, this week.
"The board will actually do the interviews," he said. "Some of the committee members will be there and they will be observers."
Some 42 applicants filed for the position that opened when Jim Golden took the position as superintendent of the Greater Albany School District.
"We have a very deep candidate pool," Hedrick acknowledged. "There are some really good candidates."
Beyond educational background and experience, a less quantifiable quality will be paramount in determining who will ultimately win the position.
"Primarily, we are looking for someone we think will be a good fit for Sisters," Hedrick said.
