News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Stephen King appears to have retained the Sisters School Board seat to which he was appointed last year, garnering a plurality of votes among the three candidates for Position 4. Karan Swaner and Steve Mathews were also candidates for the position.
King will be joined by Greg Zadow, who won Position 2, which was also sought by Lachlan Leaver. Amanda Clark and Jeff Smith ran unopposed for their seats.
In the highly-contentious Cloverdale fire district election, it appears that current board president Jerry Jones will retain his seat, prevailing by a margin of 54 percent to 46 percent for Rob Malone. Alycia Downs looks to have secured a 57 percent vote to oust incumbent Tom Barrier.
Voter turnout in Deschutes County is extremely light.
