News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Representatives of the developer Hayden Homes will float alternative ideas for the remaining phases of their housing development on the west side of Sisters on Thursday, July 16.
The Sisters Planning Commission will hold a workshop that evening at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. Representatives from Hayden Homes will be presenting options to the Planning Commission and the public for a revised development plan for Village at Cold Springs Phases III and VI-VIII. The public is invited to attend and provide their input.
The development plan approved by the City of Sisters in 2010 called for 273 total dwelling units, including 164 apartments and 109 townhouses. Hayden Homes' development model and area of expertise is in construction of single-family residences.
Sisters, like much of the region, currently has an extremely tight rental market and difficulties in providing workforce housing, making the prospect of the construction of more housing of significant interest in the community.
The public workshop will be held at 520 E. Cascade Ave. Contact Patrick Davenport, community development director, at 541-323-5219 or [email protected]
