Harvest Faire will move to Main Avenue

Organizers of one of Sisters' longest-running events are changing its location.

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 2015 Sisters Harvest Faire will be held on Main Avenue between Elm and Larch Streets.

This year's event will be held October 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The new location will be adjacent to the new Fir Street Park and provide increased access for vendors and visitors. The new venue will benefit vendors by allowing them to set up one hour earlier, there will be more corner locations, and increased vendor parking.

Visitors and local event attendees will benefit with increased visibility and ease of access to Fir Street Park. Local musicians will benefit from the new stage, and the food vendors will now have space that makes them feel more connected to the event.

"The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce has been hosting the popular Harvest Faire for over 30 years," said Judy Trego, executive director of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. "We understand the significant economic impact this event has had on our community, and we look forward to continuing in assisting local businesses and vendors thrive by bringing thousands of visitors and local residents to Sisters to enjoy the local shopping experience."

Justin Durham, managing owner of Sisters Coffee Company said, "While we're obviously a little sad to see the Harvest Faire move away from Hood Avenue, we do believe the new location and layout will provide a better experience for visitors. We are excited to station our walk-up espresso bar at Fir Street Park so attendees may enjoy our espresso and brewed coffee at the new site. We are thankful for the work of the Chamber to host this event for the past three decades and look forward to being involved in the Harvest Faire for years to come."
