News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
A beloved inspiring mom, grandma, sister, and friend. Grandma Dori passed away peacefully on September 9.
Grandma Dori was a cafeteria manager at Charter Oak School District in Southern California, before retiring after 30 years. As most of you knew Dori, you know she loved to cook and entertain! Had a wonderful aura about her and she was usually found in the kitchen at any home. She was a huge supporter of Sisters Little League, Outlaw Sports, Bioforce, and the Yotes baseball teams, traveling and cooking for the teams. Dori loved gardening, and puttering in her rose garden. The best days of her life were traveling around with her daughter and grandsons, following the sport teams from destination to destination.
Significant gratitude toward Absolute Serenity for all their love, caring and support they gave to Dori during her later years in life. We will always be grateful!
Her husband, John, and her mother and father, Deo and Edith, preceded Dori in death.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Dee Dee Burke; grandsons Pat and Andy; granddaughter-in-law Stephanie; and great granddaughter Emma Burke; son John; daughter-in-law Mary; and grandsons Matthew, Christopher and Thomas. She will be so missed by many, but never forgotten!
In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Joel Meyer Foundation would be appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3, from 2 to 5 p.m. at 69646 Old Corral Loop, Sisters.
