Habitat has positions for older workers

Are you 55 or older and in need of a job? The Sisters Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Thrift Store have Experience Works positions available.

Experience Works provides paid community service assignments at local public and nonprofit organizations. With updated skills and training, this could be used as a springboard to permanent jobs with local

employers.

Gar Slenning and Sharyn Benson, the ReStore and Thrift Store assistant managers, respectively, first started at Sisters Habitat through Experience Works. The experience and training led to full-time jobs.

Experience Works is a Senior Service Employment Program funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. Applicants must be unemployed, 55, and low income, whose resources fall within poverty guidelines.

To see if you qualify and to apply, contact the Oregon State Experience Works office at 1-877-779-7905 or www.experienceworks.org.
