News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Brad, born July 30, 1965 in Bellevue, Washington, has left this world but still lives in the hearts of his son, Aaron; daughters, Britney and Jaimee; his mother and stepfather, Kay and Bob Rozendal; brother, Jeff Simundson; and former wife Pam Simundson, as well as many other family and friends near and dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Simundson.
Brad graduated from Olympic High School Silverdale, Washington, in 1982 and continued his education at Central Washington University where he received a bachelor's degree in construction management in 1986. Until 2000 he worked for various construction firms in the Kitsap area.
In hopes of raising his young children in a small town, Sisters became their home for 13 years. Brad started a successful construction business in 2000, Blue Sky Builders.
In Sisters he spent much of his time doing the things he loved most; going to his kids' sporting events, introducing them to the beautiful mountain landscape that was their backyard, and teaching them how to hunt and fish. He loved nothing more than being in the woods, camping, and playing cribbage and poker with the people he loved. While we still think he was born to be a fur trapper on horseback, it was obvious that his tool bags suited him just as well.
In 2010 he moved to Lacey, Washington, and worked as Senior Construction Superintendent with Quadrant Corporation. In 2014 he was transferred to Poulsbo, Washington. While young at heart, Brad was always an old soul. It was the family joke that Brad would love nothing more than to return to the simpler times of centuries past. His gentle spirit and kindness will be missed by many. Brad, you have left your mark on us forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at the Camp Sherman Community Hall and on Saturday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at the Port Ludlow Beach Club.
