News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Outlaws had five players selected to all-league teams, and Keegan Greaney was at the top of the heap as a first-team all-league pick.
Greaney averaged 10 points and three rebounds per game for Sisters, and played a huge role in the Outlaws' success on both the offense and defensive end.
"Keegan was a key offensively and defensively all season long," said Coach Rand Runco.
Steen Johnson earned second-team all-league honors. Johnson averaged close to nine points and four rebounds per game.
"Steen was excellent on both sides of the ball," said Runco. "He was one of our top defenders and had some huge games in league that really improved our league standings.
Hayes Moore, Tyler Head, and Scoot Waddell all received honorable-mention recognition.
Moore averaged eight points, five assists, and three rebounds per game during the second half of league. Head led the team in rebounds and was the Outlaws' key post defender, who took on players much bigger than him. Tyler also averaged eight points per game. Waddell averaged 11 points per game.
Of the three honorable-mentions, Runco said, "Hayes started slowly, but became our floor leader, and really improved at the end of league, and going into playoffs. Tyler was so stable and reliable on the glass and in the scorebook all season. Scott was our most consistent scorer. He started as our five man, moved to forward, and finished the season as a combo guard/forward."
Runco told The Nugget that the all-league selections were very even this year, and that last year eight of the 10 first- and second-team selections were juniors, which made this a very strong senior year.
The Outlaws finished league in a second-place tie with Junction City. All five of the starters took turns in both scoring and rebounds.
