News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The "Spring Fling" book sale at FOSL's Book Corner will take place on Saturday, April 2, in the Sisters Library from 1 to 3 p.m. To make sure everyone attending the sale will have the opportunity to find the book(s) they want, the sale will be held in the Book Corner on the north end of the library and at the same time in the community room on the south end.
This will be a special event, according to Book Corner manager Lynne Wood. The library has donated several boxes of books to FOSL after their quarterly "house cleaning," which buried the Book Corner under piles of wonderful titles looking for new owners.
To sweeten the day, Wood will be offering a number of quilting books she normally sets aside for Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show Day. To make the Spring Fling even more fun for Sisters Country residents, Wood has also put in place a buy-three-get-one-free sale.
FOSL, Friends of the Sisters Library, is a vital part of the Deschutes Public Library System. The proceeds of FOSL's fundraising events go toward helping the finances for special programs of the Sisters Library, and in addition the Friends also throw a lot of money into the main library's pot to help buy books for the entire system.
In this case, Wood said that proceeds from the Spring Fling will stay in FOSL's coffers to benefit Sisters programs and collections.
