The Outlaws wrapped up pre-season play with a 6-4 win over the White Buffaloes at Madras on Friday, April 1.
Sisters scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead, and held onto the lead to the end. The Outlaws added an important run in the top of the seventh for a great finish.
Coach Steve Hodges explained, "We had a runner at first and third with two outs. We ran an early release play at first and drew the ball, and our third-base runner (Jake Larson) came home.
"That play shows the team is beginning to play with intelligence, and they're utilizing the ingredients to put together a win. The win today was a good confidence-builder. To play in a close game and get a win is an important step, especially as we look to start conference."
Sisters played a good defensive game with only one error in the contest. The outfield defense, Alec Gannon, Jake Larson, and Jake Stevens, made many great plays in the field for the Outlaws.
Ryan Cook was the Outlaws' winning pitcher, and Ryan Funk earned the save.
Zach Morgan was the Outlaws' big hitter and went two-for-two, with a double and an RBI.
Earlier in the week, on Monday, March 28, the Outlaws defeated the Bend High JV team 8-3.
Sisters was to kick off league at home against Cottage Grove on Monday, April 4. On Wednesday, April 6, the Outlaws play at home against Sweet Home, and on Friday, they will wrap up their week with a road game at Elmira.
